Belgium

Our work in Belgium
SCCC have a particular interest in the nation of Belgium – right at the heart of Europe, Although it is materially rich and highly technological, it is spiritually one of the neediest countries in Europe. Protestants in Belgium are minuscule in number. Many free independent churches are seen as cults e.g. Charismatics, Pentecostals, Revival church, Evangelical Free, Reformed, Amish etc. In 1977 they were put on a list in a government investigation and this has put many Christian groups under the shadow of suspicion.
Within this context, SCCC works alongside Brazilian missionaries Lauro and Rosanne Castelli (see their website here)and their family working with WEC International and living in the small village of Polseur. They have recently been involved in establishing a church plant in Liege, evangelism and marriage ministry. They have brought a Belgium team to the UK for outreach ministry and an SCCC team visited Belgium in 2007 working among children, engaging in prayer ministry and supporting one of the local churches just outside Liege. A second team visited in October 2009.
